Objectives of North Star Foundation
Incorporated in Massachusetts in 1998 as a non-profit 501(C)-3 organization,
North Star Foundation (NSF) works to connect American donors with those most
in need of their contributions. Thanks to the generous donations of American
corporations and private individuals, we are able to provide critical supplies
to help the poor of the Commonwealth of Independent States and many nations
of Eastern Europe maintain a basic standard of living: food, clothing, medical
supplies and equipment, hygienic products, basic household goods, and toys
for children. Future plans include the creation of sustainable programs like
education and the introduction of new technologies.
Our mission
North Star Foundation is dedicated to helping those whose lives were affected by the collapse of the former Soviet Union. Today, joblessness is rampant in many regions of the country, particularly in the rural Northern Territories which have been among the hardest hit by the Soviet Union’s demise. In fact, the majority of the CIS’s population now lives in poverty. Isolated from the cities and stripped of the meager subsistence provided by the Soviet government, the CIS’s poor face starvation, disease, and a harsh, unforgiving climate.
Accordingly, NSF focuses its relief efforts on Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Kyrgizstan and other struggling nations in the region. The North Star Foundation reaches out to all people in need. Our mission is to bring help to people in the republics of the former Soviet Union who are struggling with poverty, diseases, and homelessness - our special focus is on children and the elderly.
North Star Foundation is making a difference
in the lives of thousands of orphaned children in Russia. Having suuccessfully
procured and delivered large quantities of food, hygenic produts, toys, candy,
clothing, educational supplies, kitchen equipment, and more to many of Russia's
orphanages. But that is not all! The most valuable gift we have been able to
deliver to these precious needy children is the love, joy and comfort of knowing
that someone really cares.
